The Part Three/Introduction

Ježůvka,
The Preserved Steep Slope at The Periphery of Vsetín The Walachian Town

This was our second trip on Thursday (6.9. 2 016) in the afternoon. It was my first contact with this town, my Mother's birthplace. We went to Vsetín the town by Vendy's car from Velké Karlovice the settlement after we took some meal in a local restaurant. The car had to cover a distance of about 18 km long only. We were in Vsetín the town within a short time.

To be true my first contact with my Mother´s birthplace was minimal because our main purpose was to visit to Ježůvka the preserved steep slope at a periphery of the town. This interesting locality was discovered by Vendy and it happened by accident when Vendy was browsing on the Internet to get some information of the region we decided to visit to. Due to this and additional sources we knew very well in advance that the locality was extremely interesting from the point of botany, we could read about concrete rare species occurring there. But one thing was to know it and the second to see it. We added this place to our list of interesting places we could like to visit to automatically.

Then my first contact with Vsetín the town was peripheral. Vendy drove his car to our target through marginal parts of the town and they did not do any extra impressions to me. They were grey, boring and indifferent. Fortunately, soon the peripheral nothing, all the colorless and dirty houses, was behind us and the car was climbing a slanted field path up to our destination. Vendy wanted to get his car as close to it as possible.

The place where Vendy decided to stop his car was surrounded by a forest. The field path continued on and it disappeared in it. In a slope behind us to the left (where we went from) we could see several last cottages. We walked the path for a while only and then we took a right turn and we started climbing a near sylvan path up among trees. We turned our feet to the left in the middle of the climbing and we walked on alongside the slope till we went to a deep near sylvan valley with a stream running through it. This was last obstacle on our way to Ježůvka the preserved habitat. We had to step down, to jump over the stream and to climb an opposite arduous pitch up. Naturally, my two companions accomplished the top of the opposite cliff as the first. Now it occurs to me that it was as if Ježůvka the castle lifted its falling pond up to defend its independence.

The opposite cliff was covered with trees and bushes so that you could catch branches and trunks. They made the climb up easier. And while I was reaching for the top of the cliff only my vanguard was walking through last defensive bushy barrier already and its loud calls were suggesting that just we conquered a botanic Eden. A while later I passed through last bushes in my way, too, and I could scan an open room in front of my eyes. It was a slope rising up to my right side. It was arrow-headed in shape with its nearest end several meters under me to my left side and with its widest opposite end highly above me to my right side. This open wedge was surrounded by a forest with the exception for its widest upper part highly above us. It was lined with a blue sky with few changing white clouds.

As for the surface of this slanted free room it was covered with a meadow and just this meadow was the right treasure of the fort called Ježůvka. The meadow´s continuity was interrupted with few bushy formations dispersed in the slope solitary. We were standing on its threshold and we were going to enjoy it, to examine it. Then, slowly and very carefully, we stepped in it and it devoured us totally.

Část třetí

Ježůvka,
Chráněná strmá stráň na periférii valašského Vsetína

Tohle byl náš druhý výlet ve čtvrtek (9.6. 2016) odpoledne. Byl to můj první kontakt s tímto městem, rodištěm mé matky. Jeli jsme do Vsetína Vendovým autem z osady Velké Karlovice, poté, co jsme něco pojedli v místní restauraci. Auto muselo urazit vzdálenost jen asi 18 km dlouhou. Ve Vsetíně jsme byli během krátké doby.

Po pravdě, můj první kontakt s matčiným rodištěm byl minimální, protože náš hlavní cíl byl navštívit Ježůvku, chráněnou strmou stráň na periférii města. Tuhle zajímavou lokalitu objevil Vendy a stalo se to nahodile, když Venda zrovna zběžně brouzdal po Internetu, aby získal nějaké informace o oblasti, kterou jsme se rozhodli navštívit.

Můj první kontakt se Vsetínem byl tedy periferní. Vendy řídil auto k našemu cíli okrajovými částmi města a ty na mne žádný extra dojem nedělaly. Byly šedé, nudné a neutrální. Naštěstí tohle periferní nic, všechny ty bezbarvé a špinavé domy, bylo brzy za námi a auto šplhalo jakousi polní kosou cestou vzhůru k cíli naší cesty. Venda k němu chtěl auto dostat co možná nejblíže.

Místo, kde se Venda rozhodl auto zastavit, obklopoval les. Polní cesta pokračovala dál a mizela v něm. Ve svahu za námi (odkud jsme přijeli) vlevo jsme mohli vidět několik posledních chalup. Po cestě jsme šli jenom chvíli a pak jsme zahnuli doprava a začali stoupat vzhůru úzkou lesní cestou mezi stromy. V polovině svahu jsme stočili nohy doleva a dál kráčeli podél svahu, dokud jsme nedošli k hlubokému úzkému lesnímu sedlu, jímž protékal potok. Tohle byla poslední překážka na cestě k chráněné lokalitě Ježůvce. Museli jsme sejít dolů, přeskočit potok a vyšplhat vzhůru protějším příkrým srázem. Přirozeně, že moji dva společníci dosáhli vrcholu opačného srázu jako první. Teď mě napadá, že to bylo, jako když hrad Ježůvka zvedl padací most, aby bránil svou nezávislost.

Protější sráz byl porostlý stromy a křovisky, takže jste se mohli chytat větví a kmenů. Usnadňovaly výstup. Zatímco já teprve vrcholu srázu dosahoval, můj předvoj už procházel poslední křovinatou obrannou bariérou a jeho hlasité výkřiky naznačovaly, že jsme právě dobili botanický Ráj. O chvíli později jsem prošel posledními křovinami i já a mohl jsem přehlédnout otevřený prostor před očima. Byla to stráň, která se zvedala vzhůru po mé pravé straně. Měla klínovitý tvar s nejužším koncem několik metrů pode mnou vlevo a s nejširším opačným koncem vysoko nade mnou vpravo. Tenhle otevřený klín obklopoval les až na jeho nejširší horní část vysoko nad námi. Ta byla lemována modrou oblohou s nemnoha měnícími se bílými oblaky.

Pokud jde o povrch tohoto kosého volného prostoru, porůstala ho louka a právě tahle louka byla tím pravým pokladem pevnosti zvané Ježůvka. Kontinuitu louky narušovalo několik málo křovitých formací rozptýlených ve stráni solitérně. Stáli jsme na jejím prahu a chystali jsme se užít si ji, prozkoumat ji. Pak jsme do ní zvolna a velmi opatrně vstoupili a ona nás zcela pohltila.

Obr.4: Jedním z mých prvních snímků v louce byl tento sameček modráska obecného (Polyommatus icarus). Létal z jednoho květu na druhý, ale nakonec usedl na ten žlutý květ na delší chvíli a další dobrý snímek byl pořízen. Chráněná lokalita Ježůvka u Vsetína. 9.6. 2016. Canon.
