On Two Hot Novelties

in My Orchid Collection

Today (1.26.´16) I took several next photos of my orchids. Again the shots show something actual and new in my orchid collection.

The Fig.2: While the white Dendro is flowering away the pink Dendro is flowering fully.

The most marked event has been that my pink flowering (PF) Dendro has been flowering fully. When I got it on January last year it was in flower, too, but I would say that its flowers were much lighter in color than today. This is why I wrote about pink flowers. Its present flowers have showed a darker hue, they have been purple red in color rather than pink. Maybe it is caused by its position on a window sill with the southern exposition. The more sunlight the darker hue of flowers.

The first new springs at bases of my two Dendrobiums are the second novelty for this day. The original stems have still been alive but they have formed no new leaves. Now I can observe new signs of their growth.

I have never cultivated any Dendrobium orchid a time before. My experience with the two Dendros has lasted for one year under my conditions. This is why every new signs of their growth is joyful to me.

v mé sbírce orchidejí

Dnes (26.1.´16) jsem pořídil několik dalších fotek svých orchidek. Snímky opět ukazují něco aktuálního a nového v mé sbírce orchidek.

Nejnápadnější událostí je, že růžově kvetoucí Dendrobium kvete naplno. Když jsem ho v lednu loňského roku dostal, taky kvetlo, ale řekl bych, že květy byly mnohem světlejší barvy než dnes. Proto jsem psal o růžových květech. Snad je to způsobeno jeho pozicí na okenním parapetě s jižní expozicí. Čím více slunečního světla, tím tmavší odstín květů.

Druhou novinkou pro dnešek jsou první nové výhonky na bázích obou Dendrobií. Původní stonky jsou pořád živé, ale netvoří žádné nové listy.  Nyní pozoruji nové známky jejich růstu.

Nikdy dříve jsem žádné Dendrobium nepěstoval. Má zkušenost s oběma Dendrobii trvá za mých podmínek jeden rok. Proto je pro mne každá nová známka jejich růstu radostná.
