Wandering about Bastia

We found a good place somewhere at the edge of the close small square next to a narrow street. I recall the place very good ´cause from time to time cars went through the narrow street and we had to shrink our long legs back from their ranges.
We were sitting there and we satisfied our hungry stomachs and thirsty throats from our new pools. When we finished eating and drinking we stood up and we continued on in our free wandering about Bastia.

The Fig.1 shows the left side of the close small square screened by young plane trees. Their bases are circular or quadrate and they are often covered with metal bars. The rest is a stony pavement. I´d say that the trees growing up from the holes in the pavements are much more often in the French cities than here in Czech republic. This way you´re in much closer contact with the green.

As we crossed the close small square, on its lef side, we passed by narrow streets and lanes. We could look into them and I took pictures of some of them. The narrow lane on the Fig.2 was blind, its walls with strong signs of the erosion.

The walls of the lane on the Fig.3 are partly repaired (to the right side) and partly unrepaired (to the left side). You could leave the close small square through it. Obviously the Corsicans haven´t ruined the barracks down. Their foundations have seemed to be good enaugh so that they´ve gradually repaired them as we could see almost on our every step.

The rift through the lane on the Fig.4 allows you to see one tower of the church from the close small square (see my previous post). The faces of this lane are restored completely.

The niche on the Fig.5 was interesting in the long ladder reaching for the top of the flat roof of the house just in front of our eyes and now also before your sights. Simply said, the old barracks aren´t dead, they aren´t places good for ghosts only, they aren´t places for some squatters. I think that they´ve still been living their full lives with their constant inhabitants and unlike us they´ve gradually become younger and younger.

Toulání Bastií

Kdesi při okraji uzavřeného náměstíčka jsme našli dobré místo vedle úzké ulice. Vzpomínám si na to místo velmi dobře, protože občas tou úzkou ulicí projížděla auta a my museli své dlouhé nohy stahovat z jejich dosahu. Seděli jsme tam a uspokojovali hladové žaludky a žíznivá hrdla z nových zásob. Když jsme dojedli a dopili, zvedli jsme se a pokračovali ve volném toulání po Bastii.

Obr.1 ukazuje levou stranu uzavřeného náměstíčka stíněnou mladými platany. Mají kruhové nebo čtvercové základny a ty jsou často zakryté kovovým mřížovím. Zbytek je kamenné dláždění. Řekl bych, že stromy vyrůstající z otvorů v dláždění jsou mnohem častější ve francouzských městech než tady v České republice. Takhle jste v mnohem těsnějším kontaktu se zelení. Jak jsme přecházeli uzavřené náměstíčko, po jeho levé straně, míjeli jsme úzké ulice a uličky. Mohli jsme do nich nahlížet a já pořizoval obrázky některých z nich. Úzká ulička na obr.2 byla slepá, její zdi se silnými známkami eroze.

Zdi uličky na obr.3 jsou zčásti opravené (na pravé straně) a zčásti neopravené (na levé straně). Uzavřené náměstíčko jste skrze ni mohli opustit. Korsičané barabizny zjevně nestrhávají. Zdá se, že jejich základy jsou dost dobré, takže je postupně opravují, jak jsme mohli pozorovat skoro na každém kroku.

Průhled uličkou na obr.4 vám umožňuje vidět jednu věž kostela z uzavřeného náměstíčka (viz můj předešlý příspěvek). Fasády této uličky jsou kompletně zrestaurovány.

Výklenek na obr.5 byl zajímavý dlouhým žebříkem sahajícím na vrchol ploché střechy domu právě před našima očima a nyní rovněž před vašimi zraky. Prostě řečeno, ty staré barabizny nejsou mrtvé, nejsou to místa dobrá jen pro duchy, nejsou místy pro nějaké squattery. Myslím, že pořád žijí plným životem se stálými obyvateli a na rozdíl od nás postupně mládnou a mládnou.
