a/ Canaries or Dogs?

Usually, the word "canary" has been connected with an idea of charming yellow small birds sitting in cages and singing for their owners. One would think that the canary is a national symbol of the Canary Islands. But I learnt that the word "canary" is derived from the Latin word "canis" for the dog. The ancient Greek or Roman historians claimed that these islands were watched by big dogs. But nothing like that has not been confirmed so far. So that their claim has been an only legend with no evidence.
As you can see on my two photos I have study this phenomenon very carefully but since the beginning of our stay at Tenerife I have not recorded any case of an extraordinary big dog.

Maybe the native inhabitants of these islands used some trick to repellent a possible danger coming from the sea. The trick could be something like the Baskervill dog by sir A.C. Doyle. But the history shows that they were not successful in it. The Spanish conquerors conquered the Canary islands weather they were watched by terrible huge dogs or not. And what about the natives? They have already lived in the history only.

b/ Stony Towers from Pebbles

We came upon this attraction at the sea next to the beaches with black sand in the north west region of Tenerife. Nobody has explained this spontaneous collective art work to me till now. So that I must try to do it by myself. The stony towers are not a work of the Nature but of random tourists and visitors of this place. Somebody had to start it. Then other people came and added their shares to it. In fact the spontaneous art work has still not finished and I think that it has had no end. 

The girl on the photo is not smaller than the stony towers, she is walking at the lower level of the platform where the towers made of pebbles are distributed. The tallest of them were tall hardly to my knees.

People used to be superstitious. They avoid black cats crossing their ways, the Friday 13 is black to them ´cause something bad will happen...... Simply, people have suffered from various tiny or huge obsessions. One of them can be the momentum of this spontaneous art work. If I build a small stony tower from pebbles I will came back here. Or if I put one pebble on the previous surely my great wish will fulfill.

There are one choice yet. The small towers from pebbles could be a work of small strange beings from a distant planet of the outer Universe. If this hypothesis is right then there will be a lot of work for Erik von Daniken and his supporters. What did they want to say to us?

a/ Kanárci nebo psi?

Slovo "kanár" je obvykle spojeno s představou roztomilých žlutých ptáčků, kteří sedí v klecích a zpívají svým majitelům. Člověk by myslel, že kanárek je národním symbolem Kanárských ostrovů. Ale já se dozvěděl, že slovo "canary" je odvozeno od  latinského slova "canis" pro psa. Staří řečtí nebo římští historikové tvrdili, že tyto ostrovy jsou hlídány velkými psy. Ale nic podobného nebylo zatím potvrzeno. Takže jejich tvrzení je pouhou legendou bez důkazů.
Jak vidíte na mých dvou fotkách, studuji tento jev velmi pečlivě, ale od počátku našeho pobytu na Tenerife jsem nezaznamenal žádný případ mimořádně velkého psa.
Možná, že původní obyvatelé těchto ostrovů používali na odpuzování možného nebezpečí z moře nějaký trik. Ten trik mohl být něco jako pes Baskervillský od sira A.C. Doyla. Ale historie ukazuje, že v tom úspěch neměli. Španělští dobyvatelé dobyli Kanárské ostrovy, ať byly hlídány velkými psy nebo ne. A co původní obyvatelé? Žijí už jenom v historii.

b/ Kamenné věže z oblázků

Na tuhle atrakci jsme narazili vedle pláží s černým pískem v severozápadní oblasti Tenerife. Dodnes mi nikdo nevysvětlil tohle spontánní kolektivní umělecké dílo. Tak se to musím pokusit udělat sám. Kamenné věže nejsou dílem přírody, ale nahodilých turistů či návštěvníků tohoto místa. Někdo to musel začít. Poté přišli další a přidali k tomu své podíly. Tohle spontánní kolektivní umělecké dílo vlastně stále neskončilo a myslím, že je bez konce.

Dívka na obrázku není menší než kamenné věže, prochází nižší úrovní plošiny, na které jsou věže udělané z oblázků distribuovány. Nejvyšší z nich byly vysoké sotva mně ke kolenům.

Lidé bývají pověrčiví. Vyhýbají se černým kočkám, když jim kříží cestu, pátek třináctého je pro ně černý, protože se přihodí něco špatného........ Prostě, lidé trpí různými titěrnými i ohromnými posedlostmi. Jedna z nich může být hybatelem tohoto spontánního uměleckého díla. Postavím-li malou kamennou věž z oblázků, vrátím se sem. Anebo, když položím oblázek na předešlý, určitě se mi vyplní největší přání.

Existuje ještě jedna možnost. Tyhle malé věže z oblázků by mohly být dílem malých cizích bytostí z nějaké vzdálené planety vesmíru mimo naši sluneční soustavu. Je-li tahle domněnka správná, pak bude spousta práce pro Erika von Danikena a jeho stoupence. Co nám chtěly sdělit?
