Soon we learnt that we were later a bit when we found ourselves in the forest behind the lookout. Again we met the car we saw it passing by the lookout to the forest a time before. It stood on a sylvan path. A small boy was at it and we could see his parents picking blue berries nearby the path in the forest terrain. Yes, it was the time of blue berries. As for the occurrence of Epipactis the genus belonging to Orchidaceae the family we were later really. We knew, thanks to my friend Adam Majer, that there grew two or three species of this genus in this habitat. And yes, I could confirm this fact because we begun to find these orchids almost immediately after entering the forest room.

Unfortunately, all the plants were in fruit. We found no plant in flower, their flowering phase was finished at that time of our visit.

I am not such an expert to be able to identify individual species in their fruitful stadium and therefore my photos should document an abundant existence of this genus in the place only as well as the fact that they have their grace even though they do not bloom. My friend Adam, the florist, wrote that their identification was not easy in the fruitful stadium. He offered a help of one expert who devoted to this genus, this botanist processed Epipactis the genus for the Czech Flora, the big work of several thick volumes. But my photos did not catch all the needed diacritical characters so that an expert could identify the separate plants at the species level with certainty.

As each of our trio begun to find some plants of Epipactis the genus almost at the same time I recorded a next interesting and rarer plant growing in the same sylvan terrain as orchids of the Epipactis the genus. And while my two companions were announcing loudly next and next Epipactis plants to me from their more distant places in the sylvan terrain I was lying on my right or left side and trying to catch this tiny green herb as best as I could. There were more plants growing in the place so that I could select the best ones for my photographing purposes. They did not grow in dense clusters together, rather they were distributed in lesser or more distances from each other. I classified this plant as to be Orthilia secunda from Pirolaceae the family. If there are something in common between Epipactis and Orthilia then it is their mycorrhiza, i.e. a symbiotic relationship with microscopic fungi living in their root systems and mediating their nutrition from root systems of some trees or other herbs.

Brzy jsme zjistili, že přicházíme trochu pozdě, když jsme se ocitli v lese za rozhlednou. Opět jsme se potkali s autem, které jsme viděli projíždět kolem rozhledny k lesu před nějakou dobou. Stálo na lesní cestě. Byl u něj malý chlapec a my mohli vidět jeho rodiče, jak sbírají borůvky nedaleko cesty v lesním terénu. Ano, byl čas borůvek.

Pokud jde o výskyt rodu kruštík (Epipactis), který patří do čeledi vstavačovitých (Orchidaceae), přišli jsme opravdu pozdě. Věděli jsme, díky příteli Adamu Majerovi, že na této lokalitě rostou dva či tři druhy z rodu kruštík (Epipactis). A ano, ten fakt jsem mohl potvrdit, protože jsme tyto orchideje začali nacházet téměř ihned po vstupu do lesního prostoru.

Bohužel, všechny rostliny byly v plodu. Nenašli jsme žádnou kvetoucí rostlinu, v době naší návštěvy byla jejich fáze kvetení ukončena.
Nejsem takový expert, aby dokázal určit jednotlivé druhy v plodném stádiu, a tudíž by mé fotografie měly dokládat pouze hojnou existenci rodu na místě a také skutečnost, že mají svůj půvab, i když nekvetou. Přítel Adam, florista, psal, že jejich určení není v plodném stádiu snadné. Nabízel pomoc jednoho odborníka, který se tomuto rodu věnuje, tento botanik zpracoval rod kruštík (Epipactis) pro Květenu České republiky, velké dílo o několika tlustých svazcích. Ale moje fotografie nezachytily veškeré potřebné diakritické znaky, aby mohl odborník jistě určit jednotlivé rostliny na druhové úrovni.

Jak každý z našeho tria začal nacházet kruštíky skoro současně, zaznamenal jsem další zajímavou a vzácnější rostlinu rostoucí v tomtéž lesním terénu jako orchideje rodu kruštík (Epipactis). A zatímco mně moji dva společníci hlasitě oznamovali další a další kruštíky ze svých vzdálenějších míst v lese, já jsem ležel na pravém či levém boku a snažil se zachytit tuhle drobnou zelenou bylinku, jak jsem mohl nejlépe. V tom místě rostlo více rostlin, takže jsem mohl vybírat ty nejlepší pro své fotografické účely. Nerostly v hustých shlucích pospolu, spíš byly distribuovány v menších nebo větších vzdálenostech od sebe navzájem.

Klasifikoval jsem tuto rostlinu jako hruštici jednostrannou (Orthilia secunda) z čeledi hruštičkovitých (Pirolaceae). Existuje-li mezi hrušticí (Orthilia) a kruštíkem (Epipactis) něco společného, pak to je jejich mykorrhiza, tj. symbiotický vztah s mikroskopickými houbami, které žijí v jejich kořenových soustavách a zprostředkovávají jejich výživu z kořenových systémů některých stromů nebo jiných bylin.
