From Štěchovice to Slapy and vice versa (III)

On My Often Encounters with Epipactis Zinn The Genus

In the day of this trip the temperature was rising at 37 degrees centigrade. A pale blue sky was a scene for one actor only and it was the Sun. But our way to Slapy and back to Štěchovice led under tree crowns so that our heads weren´t under a direct shooting of The Sun´s rays.

When we climbed up to the top of a long sylvan back suddenly I came upon one flowering specimen of Epipactis Zinn the genus from Orchidaceae Juss. the family. This terrestric orchid has seemed to cross my way quite often. A moment later I found several next plants of this genus. All the plants were growing alongside a path in dead beech and oak leaves.

Not too far from the place of my discover there was a collection of logs. There were sitting three or four older female tourists on the logs. They were taking a rest and talking, some of them were eating their lunches.
While my attendants continued on in their walking I stayed in the place of my discover. Of course I wanted to capture the orchids. To be able to capture their flowers as the best as possible in the end I found myself lying on my side in dead leaves next to one of the plants. No doubt at a great amusement of the older female tourists.

Ze Štěchovic na Slapy a naopak (III)

O mých častých setkáních s rodem kruštík (Epipactis Zinn)

V den tohoto výletu vystupovala teplota na 37 st. C. Bleděmodrá obloha byla scénou jen pro jediného herce a to bylo Slunce. Ale naše cesta na Slapy a zpět do Štěchovic vedla pod korunami stromů, takže jsme hlavy neměly pod přímou palbou slunečních paprsků.

Když jsme vystoupali na vrchol táhlého zalesněného hřbetu, pojednou jsem narazil na jeden kvetoucí exemplář z rodu kruštík (Epipactis Zinn) z čeledi vstavačovitých (Orchidaceae Juss.). Zdá se, že tahle terestrická orchidea mi kříží cestu dost často. O chvíli později jsem našel několik dalších rostlin tohoto rodu. Všechny rostly podél cesty v odumřelém dubové a bukovém listoví.

Ne moc daleko od místa mého objevu byla hromada klád. Na kládách seděly tři nebo čtyři starší turistky. Odpočívaly, povídaly si a některé z nich svačily.
Zatímco moji společníci pokračovali v chůzi, já na místě svého objevu zůstal. Samozřejmě jsem chtěl orchideje vyfotit. Abych mohl vyfotit jejich květy co možná nejlépe, nakonec jsem se ocitl vleže na boku vedle jedné z těch rostlin. Nepochybně k velkému pobavení oněch starších turistek.
