Brienne and A Bear

A strange figure of the Martin´s fantasy. First she´s in services of Renly the King and after his death promises her allegiance to Catlyn. Catlyn orders her to escort Jamie, her capture, back to the Lannister´s castle ´cause she hopes to get back her daughters Sansa and Arya at least for her good will though her decision was against her brother´s meaning.
Brienne looks like a man rather than a woman. She´s a very good at the art of sword, she´s tall and her body is robust and muscled. One would think she´s a lesbian but according to both the book and the movie there is a normal woman under her ugly appearance.
On their way to the King´s port, the rezidence of the Lannister´s, she and Jamie are captured by a band of hard guys. Jamie loses his right arm and Brienne with a woody sword is placed into a pit with a hungry and angry bear. Her chance to survive is minimal. Her desperate fight is watched by heartless onlookers from above. Her rescurer becomes Jamie Lannister. Despite his handicap he jumps into the pit and makes the bear confused. Than the surprised bear can concentrate on its attack again Jamie and Brienne make to climb up to the safe top of the stony wall.

Brienne a medvěd

Podivná figura Martinovy fantasy. Nejdřív je ve službách krále Renlyho a po jeho smrti zaslíbí věrnost Catlyn. Catlyn jí nařídí, aby eskortovala Jamieho, svého zajatce, zpět do hradu Lannisterů, protože doufá, že získá zpět alespoň své dcery Sansu a Aryu za svou dobrou vůli, i když je její rozhodnutí proti mínění jejího bratra.
Brienne vypadá spíš jako chlap než žena. Je velmi dobrá v umění meče, je vysoká a má robustní a svalnaté tělo. Člověk by myslel, že je lesbička, ale podle knížky i filmu je pod jejím ošklivým vzhledem normální žena.
Cestou do Králova přístaviště, rezidence Lannisterů, polapí ji a Jamieho banda drsných chlapíků. Jamie přichází o pravou ruku a Brienne s dřevěným mečem je umístěna do jámy s hladovým a vzteklým medvědem. Její šance na přežití je minimální. Její soufalý boj je sledován bezcitnými diváky shora. Jejím zachráncem se stává Jamie Lannister. Vzdor svému postižení seskočí do jámy a medvěda zmate. Než se překvapený medvěd dokáže znovu soustředit na svůj útok, Jamie a Brienne stihnou vyšplhat na bezpečný vrchol kamenné zdi.
